Ethnic Enrichment Festival

A friend and co-worker of B's told us about the Ethnic Enrichment Festival that is going on this weekend in Kansas City (in Swope Park). We didn't have any weekend plans so we decided to go check it out last night. I had no idea how big of an event this was. There were a ton of people there! It was Kansas City's version Epcot where you can visit each country. They even had passports where the kids could go around and get a stamp from each country. B started to do this for Vegas Baby but it was hot, we were hungry, and it was just taking too long.

Mostly the different booths sold food. And the food was great. Our favorite was handmade empanadas from Ecuador. People said they were waiting an hour for them to make more and it was well worth it. They even brought foil so that they could take extras home.

One of our friends was going to try some food from Ethiopia but ironically enough, they were out. There was also had a beer garden where B tried some new beers. And there was a stage with performers that were doing ethnic songs, dances, etc. from each country and the country changed every 30 minutes. When we left it was Mexico's turn and the party was getting started!

  1. That sounds like so much fun! I wish I had heard about it. I'll have to watch for it next year.
